Job Type: Full-Time, 42 hours
Salary: £29,000

ABOUT US

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an Assistant Retail Operations Manager to work with the Operations Manager and Assistant Retail Floor Manager in overseeing the administrative and operational aspects of our shop. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth order management, financial efficiency, and stock control while collaborating with the wider team to support business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and respond to email queries professionally and efficiently.

  • Oversee online orders, Cybake system management, wholesale, and shop orders.

  • Order ingredients, packaging, and cleaning products, ensuring alignment with budget guidelines in collaboration with the office team.

  • Handle invoicing, financial records, and reporting related to shop operations.

  • Plan and coordinate the Special Occasions offerings.

  • Plan and develop the coffee offering at the shop and work with the Baker’s Yard Manager to enhance coffee service across both locations.

  • Work with Operations Manager and the Retail Floor Manager to create and deliver staff training.

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Retail Floor Manager, Baker’s Yard Manager, and Operations Manager to expand and develop the hot food and sandwich offerings at both sites.

  • Support the growth of the coffee offering at the shop and work with the Baker’s Yard Manager to enhance coffee service at both locations.

  • Assist in designing and implementing a comprehensive training program for shop staff.

  • Ensure the Assistant Retail Floor Manager is trained on administrative duties to provide coverage when needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Barista trained to a top level, with a strong understanding of coffee preparation and service standards.

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Excellent written communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer service.

  • Experience in retail operations or a similar role with a strong administrative and operational focus.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.

  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and teamwork.
